Rosie's childhood fostered a deep sense of respect, connection and compassion for the natural environment. Each summer she found herself with family in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. She loved the trees and the boulders and the creeks, but most of all, she loved the animals. Forging connections to the natural world around her happened alongside Rosie‘s adventuresome older sister, from the view of her mother’s lap, and from atop her father’s shoulders. Rosie and her Coloradan cousin grew up together, amidst pine forests, soaring heights, and alpine tundra. Deep within her love of nature is a connection to self and to family.
As an adult, Rosie’s passion for the environment and connection to her family has manifested itself in various ways, art being one of them. By making cards she hopes to tie together themes of family, community, and nature that have so deeply shaped her sense of self.
